WHY BUY A FENDT ACCORDING TO HYDE BROS OF LUDLOW, SHROPSHIRE.

Hyde Bros run a piping supplies and farm contracting business, and run a 1800 acre farm near Ludlow. They have a fleet of John Deere tractors and two Fendt 716s which they operate throughout the year for ploughing, baling, potato and transport work, and more. They can be considered experts when it comes to comparing the two tractor manufacturers like for like.

We asked them why they liked their Fendts and what made them choose to add Fendts to their existing fleet.

‘The fuel saving alone can cover the price difference between a Fendt and a comparable tractor’. The fuel saving is most apparent when transporting, but even in the field Hyde’s claim that the Fendt offers a substantial fuel saving compared to a New Holland or John Deere.

‘The residual value of high specification John Deere would be the same as a standard tractor, therefore money is wasted paying for extras which don't make a difference when trading in or selling on’. The Fendt, which comes high-spec as standard, will always hold its value.

‘You can master the controls and Fendt technology within a couple of days’.
The Fendt offers smooth road travelling, it is comfy, with a good steering lock and lighter steering that their other tractors.

‘The Vario gearbox is second to none, especially when destoning and potato harvesting’. Having tried the John Deere Vario, they still believe the Fendt transmission is way ahead of the rest.
Overall ergonomics are good, although Hyde’s driver Roy says ‘the cab is now becoming slightly dated’, but a new design cab is on its way, which Roy believes will make the Fendt the only choice for professional farmers.

WHY NOT TRY THE LIGHTER SHADE OF GREEN?

Fendts are known as the Rolls-Royce of tractors, and certainly live up to their reputation of strong build quality, reliability, and industry leading state of the art technology on board, you are ensured of both increased productivity and operator comfort.

RVW Pugh Ltd has been working with the Fendt brand for seven and a half years and believe that Fendt is the sensible farmers choice. Fendt tractors are often mistaken for being overly complicated, too big or too expensive…it's time to discard these myths!

Full spec included in the price Although Fendts can have a higher retail price than other tractor brands, it's worth taking a closer look at what you get for the bottom figure. A more basic, other branded tractor with a similar horsepower may look cheaper initially but by the time you have added the specification required, such as front linkage, air conditioning, full suspension, Vario transmission and more, all of which come as standard on a Fendt, the cost is comparable.

Economical fuel consumption Initial capital layout is not the only thing to look out for. Fendts win hands down with fuel consumption. Farmers and contractors know as well as anyone that increasing fuel prices are affecting profitability. With up to 25% fuel saving, Fendt tractors offer running costs that are not to be overlooked. Some smaller 150hp tractors use more fuel than the huge 286hp Fendt 926!

Fendts have traditionally been big HP tractors but they are by no means clumsy workhorses. With an excellent power to weight ratio, Fendt lead the way when working in wet conditions where other tractors may not be able to work.

Industry leading technology The Vario transmission gives more output without straining the tractor, as it transfers all the torque to the ground giving a smooth transition between the gears without jumping, again causing less damage to the soil surface. The unique “Tractor Management System” (TMS) technology ensures ease of driving as the system takes as much power as needed from the engine, keeping the revs constant when operating on slopes.

Headland management is a standard feature on all Fendt tractors. This means that settings can be adjusted to your requirements. The system offers one touch automatic control for ease of operation when ploughing, mowing, or anything where there is a requirement to move the linkage, spool valves and tractor attachments.
